There are several methods to predict the likelyhood of inheriting a trait in children from parents. One of the most popular is the Punnett Square Method. This was invented by Reginald Punnett.
You start by drawing a grid of two parallel and two perpendicular lines. Then you add the genotypes of the parent one on top and one on left. Then u just fill up the squares combining the gene of left parent and top parent. This gives the predicted frequencies of potential genotypes in the offspring.
If you need a tutorial there is an excellent Punnett Square Tutorial, you should go through. Happy Exploring of Genotypes!
